Check-In: Paris, for DUCO France

I’m on my way to Paris, and I couldn’t be more excited. This week I’ll be attending DUCO France, a prestigious, invitation-only travel symposium that brings together the best of the best in French hospitality - hoteliers, destination experts, and travel advisors - all gathered to celebrate what makes France so irresistible.

For one full week in the City of Lights, my days will be a whirlwind of meetings and my evenings, a series of unforgettable experiences: Dinner on the Seine with the Relais & Châteaux team, dancing at Bonnie with the ladies of La Réserve, and an 80’s-inspired soirée with Cheval Blanc. There’s morning pastries with The Peninsula Paris’ Director of Sales, and later, a Lillet Spritz at Le Bristol, because research should always be this chic.

Behind the Scenes at DUCO

As glamorous as it sounds, DUCO France is also work—the best kind. Over the course of the week, I’ll have nearly seventy-five one-on-one meetings with hoteliers and destination partners from every corner of the country. These conversations may be brief, think “luxury travel speed-dating,” but the connections are lasting.

In the end, that’s what this industry is all about: relationships. By sitting across the table from the people who create these experiences, I can better match my clients’ dreams with the perfect hotel, region, or experience, whether that’s a Provençal vineyard stay, a Parisian palace suite, or a family château retreat in the Loire.

Where I’m Staying

This trip will also allow me to experience three incredible Parisian hotels, each with its own character and charm.

The one I’m most excited about is the Shangri-La Paris, the former residence of Prince Roland Bonaparte. It perfectly captures what I love about the city: history layered with modern grace, glittering chandeliers offset by intimate courtyards, and those postcard-perfect views of the Eiffel Tower right from your terrace. It’s opulent, yes—but in that unmistakably Parisian way that feels both regal and romantic.

What’s Next

In between appointments, you can be sure I’ll be scouting the best shopping, dining, and hidden corners to share with you. A few coveted restaurant reservations are on the books, and I already know they’ll be worth writing home about.

Attending events like DUCO isn’t just about discovery. It’s about connectioninspiration, and continuing to elevate the way I design travel for my clients and my family alike. Paris has a way of reminding me that elegance doesn’t have to be complicated; it’s often found in the smallest details—a perfect croissant, a warm welcome, or the way the light hits the Seine at sunset.

Stay tuned.

There’s so much more to share from DUCO France.
